This is a unique shape whetstone. Most of what I have found on the internet
about this type of whetstone shows they come from Europe. I read one article
where this type of whetstone is used a lot by farmers that still use a scythe
in the fields. This type of whetstone was easy to carry to stop and sharpen the
scythe. This one shows that it has been used many times. I don't know what the
blue color on the one side was for unless it was some kind of logo at one time.
This whetstone measures approximately 9" long.
