Uchiguimori-Do Jito,
181 x 62 x 31 mm,
900gm, tomo 50 gm, Tomo in picture included in sale.
Purchased from Keith Johnson in 2016, sold as a knife finisher or intermediate
stone for razor honing. Nice covering of Renge, which lead to a beautiful rose
colored slurry on the stone. Similar pattern noted in the accompanying Tomo.
Fine grained, not too fast cutting, great tactile feel in my hands, and leaves
a nice contrast to knife cladding. The base is a little wobbly and benefits
from being placed on a wet towel when sharpening. It is not full bench stone
size, but pretty close, and a very clean stone.
Sides and bottom are sealed with cashew lacquer. The surface was flattened
with Atoma plates, but it has been used since the last flattening.
