A high quality replacement for the Gransfors Bruks Small Forest Axe Sheath.

Here we have my sheath designed for the Small Forest Axe, a favourite among
many woodsmen and bush-crafters.

I personally love the original design of the sheath for the SFA but as many
people know the quality of the supplied sheath is very poor due to price
pointing.

There is unfortunately no shortcut for quality produced leather and in
designing my sheath I have used my usual high quality full grain saddle tan
with a chestnut sandwich to protect the blade.

I have chosen to use Brass Chicago Screws to add extra security for sheathing
and a little long term protection.

I design my pieces with lifetime use in mind and using a Chicago fitting
rather than a rivet for the strap anchor allows the user to punch another hole
in the strap if stretch appears over the years.

As anyone that uses an axe regularly will know this is an inevitable outcome
after hundreds or thousands of uses. The leather I use is very tough and
stretch resistant but leather will give with extended use and I wanted to
produce a strap that would have a way to make this issue obsolete. I can supply
the sheath with a pre punched second hole should the user desire, but by
default it will come as pictured.

The sheath comes with my signature tram line over the peak to add a little
subtle style and echo the design of my collar also available on the store.
Beeswax is the burnishing aid, with all edges carefully skived and finished
with love.

I now offer my Sheath with a very neat and functional Short Strap. Not only is
this very easy on the eye proportionally but also reduces weight and bulk from
the axe head whilst maintaining the ability to be clipped onto a belt loop or
pack when the axe is in use.
