2 lbs. of screws were canister welded together and forged into this axe head.
A hole was punched by hand and an axe eye drift was used to shape the eye. A
high carbon steel bit was forge welded into the body and the axe was final
forged and shaped. The bit was then heat treated and tempered. The cutting edge
skates a file and holds an edge well and it is sharpened.
I intentionally made it noticeable that it was made of individual pieces,
although you can see in between some screws, it is a solid chunk of steel.
Measures: 5 1/4 inches long by 3 1/4". And the width is approximately 1 1/16
inches at the eye.
*A couple of the pictures are before it was sharpened.
